We're kicking off the season with a clean-up along the Mississippi in Minneapolis, part of the citywide Earth Day Clean-Up. Come with your kayak! We'll paddle from Riverfront Park in Fridley down to Boom Island, picking up trash from the river and along the shore as we go. If you don't have a kayak, we can still use the help! We recommend checking in at one of the citywide clean-up sites along the way, such as Marshall Terrace Park or Boom Island. More info here : https://www.minneapolisparks.org/activities-events/events/earth_day_cleanup/
Bags and gloves will be provided. Be sure to RSVP so we can arrange cooperative shuttling and carpooling. It's still cool, so be sure to bring yor life vest and dry bag with extra clothes, just in case.
Trip is approx. 5 miles. Due to construction at Boom Island boat launch, we will be getting out at the canoe launch at the south end of Boom Island Park, so there will be a bit of a portage at the end.
